A road trip story
Forever Ago
Forever Ago is a single-player road trip adventure from Third Shift, published by Annapurna Interactive.

Who made the trip
Third Shift developed Forever Ago, and Annapurna Interactive published it. You play Alfred. After a tragic stroke of fate he travels north looking for redemption, on a single-player road trip. The studio is Kai Brueckers and Fabian Denter, and Forever Ago is their debut.
Audrey is Alfred's sweetheart. You play through a lifetime of love with her, and that love transcends time. The people he meets have their own stories, beliefs, and struggles, played by renowned voice actors. Clark Aboud wrote the original soundtrack, after earlier work on Slay the Spire and Kind Words.
Forever Ago launched on 8 October 2026. The debut is out now, and a limited-time launch discount came with that day. Alfred's journey in the launch is a trip through memories in the Pacific Northwest. The official site still says Coming October 8, 2026.
On PC, Forever Ago is a Windows game. The yen price is 2,300 yen, discounted to 2,070 yen, and that yen pair is not the price in every region. On Nintendo Switch 2 the US price is 17 dollars and 99 cents, SKU 7100116556. On Xbox the game is rated ESRB Teen, dated 8 October 2026, and a US Game Pass subscription can start it. On PlayStation it is still concept 10018129, which is not a version you can buy.
What you do
You travel, take pictures, meet people, and make friends. The road runs from serene forest trails to dusty barrens under the desert sun. You can examine objects and interact with them to learn about a place and the people living there. Alfred's instant camera keeps memories and also solves small environmental puzzles.
English has full audio. French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Russian are supported too. Turkish and Ukrainian have a written description, but they are not supported languages in the game.
Forever Ago is an Adventure and Indie game, and it is single-player. It has achievements, full controller support, Steam Cloud, and Family Sharing. Comfort options cover Camera Comfort, a custom volume control, play without timed input, subtitles, stereo, and surround sound. DualShock and DualSense controllers both work. The age gate is 0. Brazil's DEJUS rates it 12, and the German rating is 12.
There are 29 achievements. Six are numbered story markers, from Before I Forget Myself at 65 percent down to You Can’t Plan Life at 15.2 percent. Seven are camera goals: find a vignette, find all of them, take 25 photos, take 50 photos, rest at every stop, and two selfie names with no public hint. The rest are roadside names, each with a global unlock percent. What's In A Name, at 18.6 percent, is an extra story achievement about Doggo and is not one of the six markers.
The launch pairs the game with Outbound, a cozy van-life game, in the Forever Ago x Outbound bundle. Two trailers cover the release: the launch trailer, and the trailer that locked the 8 October 2026 date. The public history of the trip runs from 19 April 2020 to that launch day.
The same pitch sends Alfred north after a tragic stroke of fate, looking for redemption, through forest trails and dusty desert barrens. Examining objects and shooting the instant camera sit beside meeting people and making friends. The story on the road is broken dreams, loss, and regret, and also courage, hope, and true friendship.
The key art shows the orange-and-white van, plate 4VR AGO, a campfire, a sleeping dog, and pine mountains at dusk, with Alfred in a red shirt in the open door. Other scenes show him driving through desert scrub with a cactus on the dash, walking toward a pale door through red flowers, and looking through a viewfinder onto red flowering vines in a blue forest. Those pictures are moments from the trip, not achievement icons.
